The Society for Testing and Research of Materials and Structures of Serbia and the Institute for Materials Testing IMS - Belgrade, in cooperation with the Engineering Chamber of Serbia, are organizing the scientific conference:

Design, execution, and condition assessment of civil engineering structures in accordance with applicable regulations and standards

17/04/2026 at the IMS Institute in Belgrade

Purpose of the conference

The Society for Testing and Research of Materials and Structures (DIMK) of Serbia traditionally organizes professional and scientific conferences that bring together researchers, engineers, designers, contractors, and representatives of competent institutions, with the aim of considering current topics and modern trends in the field of construction materials and structures.

This conference is dedicated to current issues of design, execution, quality control, and maintenance of civil engineering structures in accordance with national and European regulations and standards. The aim of the conference is to familiarize the professional and scientific public, as well as representatives of the construction industry and competent institutions, with modern approaches, normative requirements, and practical experience in this field.

Within the conference, topics will be considered related to optimal design and execution of civil engineering structures as key factors of their durability, the application of the national annex SRPS EN 13670/NA in the process of executing concrete structures, as well as the role of regular and extraordinary structural inspections in their maintenance system, from technical and legislative aspects.

Special attention will be devoted to the application of modern non-destructive testing methods in the condition assessment of civil engineering structures, the assessment of in-situ concrete compressive strength for the purposes of evaluating the load-bearing capacity of existing structures, as well as the planning and implementation of interventions on structures with the aim of restoring building functionality.

Through professional presentations and discussion, conference participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and improve the knowledge necessary for quality and responsible design, execution, and maintenance of civil engineering structures.
